The Mower Place

i took my Honda HRU 196 in to see if its worth repairing and or servicing and was told that it was a good to service the engine is a bit rough but will be ok for at least another year for domestic work so i proceeded with the service at 170 dollars i expected a good running mower back however when picking it up i was told it would be a little smokey and to keep an eye on the oil level i was ok with that as long as i got another 12 months out of it i was ok with the work done.

i went to use the mower the on the weekend and it blows heaps of smoke and has no power when under load so its basically useless they should have told me is was a write off i called them to let them know the mower was not running at 100 percent and see if they had anything to say about the mower and its service and i was spoken to very rudely and was told they only start them to test them i thought this was an inadequate way of testing as i was asking them to let me know if the mower was worth fixing.

was told ill get a call back to explain but no call back as of a month ago.

I really recommend this shop not be used. I bought a honda push mower 2 weeks ago. I read some Reviews about the grass shoot clogging up where it goes to the catcher. I asked the salesman at the capalaba store who responded that this is only an issue when the grass is wet. My dad has been using this shop for a while with ride ons mowers and trusted his advice. Well i found out its also an issue when its dry. When I went back down there i basically got the responce that he sells them and couldnt offer any more support. Very poor when spending $700 on a mower! They have lost two customers cause my dad will not go again either.


Stay clear of the domestic honda branded mowers and the all the mower place stores due to the poor customer service.

I do admit that the engine on the machine is fantastic, its just the honda chassis that is rubbish!
