Marco's Plumbing

Marco replaced an electric hot water system for me. He was proficient, prompt and he did a good job. However, he was not very forthcoming regarding the costs associated with the job and I think that he charged excessively. I paid $1700 (excluding GST) for a job that took 2.5 hours. A significant amount of that time was spent waiting for tank delivery and waiting for the original tank to drain. He told me that the replacement tank was "around $1300" but a quick phone call to the supplier revealed an actual cost of $923 plus $50 delivery fee. And that's the price for Joe Blow off the street not the trade price he paid. When I questioned him about the costs, he offered no reasonable explanation, in fact no explanation at all. What made it even more galling was that he kept telling me what a great price I was getting and other plumbers would charge me a lot more. So if you think $700 (excluding GST) labour costs for 2.5 hours of fairly simple plumbing (I watched the work) is reasonable and you enjoy feeling like a sucker then call Marco, if not, look elsewhere.
