QBD (Queensland Book Depot) was started in the late 1890s by the Uniting Church as a retail business selling religious material. Over the many years leading up to the 1980s QBD developed into a major retailer in Queensland. By this time QBD had 50 stores across Queensland selling a large range of religious and general books, stationery plus specialising in student text books.

Many of the big bookstores are gone these days. For those of us who still like to hold on to a real book and flip the pages instead of staring into the digital books, its fortunate to have QBD Bookshop. They often have huge discounts on less popular books whilst also having many of the latest and popular ones in stock too. Also, they have quite a range of kids and speciality books (e.g. pets, travel, craft, cooking, etc) which could be of interest to you as well.
