Needed to replace our old dilapidated roller door. Of 4 quotes I got A1 Automate was 25% more expensive than the lowest price but about 50% cheaper than the highest priced, big name brand, roller door.
The negatives - from the date of paying the deposit to installation took 25 days, instead of the "two weeks" originally quoted. This was not a great problem for me though it might be for others.
The positives - experienced & efficient installer, Merlin door opener with 3 yr warranty, door works smoothly and very quite, old door removed from site.
Bottom line is that A1 Automate offers very good value for money. Only thing left to ponder is how reliable the door will work over time and how good the after sales service performs if/when required.

I have dealt with David from A1 Automate for a few years now, from installing a new garage door, to coming out to repair my garage door after i have had many incidents hitting my garage door, he has not only been efficient and friendly he has also followed up to make sure that i'm happy with the garage door and made sure i'm having no issues. I have also had to replace my remote due to misplacing it many times and he has come out with new ones for me the same day. I highly recommend dealing with A1 Automate as they are friendly, fast and affordable company in Sydney. He has also repaired my friends and family doors over the last few years, and also put a motor on my parents garage door which they are extremely happy with now as they dont have to keep opening the door themselves now. i would recommend David and his Team for all Garage Door Repairs, Installation & New Motors.

If you are looking for CRAP SERVICE, FAKE BOOKINGS, TIME WASTING & just an overall STUFF AROUND then be sure to contact A1 Automate

As a real estate agent I deal with tradesmen and repair specialists on a frequent basis & I have seen & dealt with the good, the bad & just the plain ugly, but I can honestly say this is the very first time I am going out of my way to WARN other potential customers about #A1automate.

I contacted their company to ask about their costs & services & they happily provided me with a quotation for a replacement motor for one of my clients investment properties. That same day I emailed a work order through requesting they contact the tenants for access. A few days past it was now the weekend & my tenant had not heard from the David & his team.

Days past and my tenant ended up calling David as he had not heard from him. His excuse was he never received the email, which was highly unlikely as I cc'd the tenant in whom just so happen to receive the email and contact details. David said he MAY have one of his installers out there on Thursday (in 4 days) & he will confirm the booking in Tuesday.

Nevertheless I resent a new email & I then contacted David again to confirm his email address, (which was correct) & the time/date booked with the tenant on Thursday. He said he will call up one of his installers & confirm a time with me for Thursday.

Thursday came & I contacted David again as I did NOT hear from him in the past two days. I asked him to contact me to book in a time with my tenants to have the motor installed asap. He said he will get onto it & call me back.The next day I called AGAIN as I did not hear from him. David then confirmed the job will be completed Monday. Over two weeks have now past & the job still has not been completed.What attracted my client to his service was the price but like all things in this world, you get what you pay for!

I urge ALL customers to take a lesson from my experience & look elsewhere!

Hi All,
I would like to share my experience dealing with David and his team.
When I first called David, he appeared reasonable and sensible. We discussed the requirements and timeframe. David promised that they will do the job as discussed, gave us approximate date, and promised to call back. After that he didn't call back and didn't reply to my messages. When I called him again, he promised to call back with the exact date and approx time. I waited and waited and sent multiple text messages, but David didn't reply and didn't call.
After finally getting the installation scheduled, my wife stayed home waiting for David, but he never turned up or called. When I finally managed to get a hold of him (the day after the job was meant to be done), he didn't even apologise and instead claimed that he tried calling me and sent me an email. That was a plain lie. I got no calls or emails.
In our further phone conversations, David even admitted that him and his team were triple booked. Triple booked! This suggests that 2 out of 3 customers will be jerked around for weeks like I was because David made 3 times more bookings than he could handle.
If you are reading this, please don't waste your time dealing with this irresponsible contractor. You think you are getting a slightly better price, but in return you are likely to waste precious time waiting for him, calling him, rescheduling, waiting again, and so on.
