Black Collections was convicted and fined for engaging in unlicenced credit activity and for holding out that it held a licence that would authorise it to collect on consumer debts, when it did not. The director was also charged with credit and deception offences.
The company operated as a debt collection agency in Double Bay, New South Wales.
I found the above after googling this company because they called, emailed and texted me, failing to adequately identify themselves, ignoring my communications and advice, threatening me over a debt I don’t owe and had already disputed.
They completely ignore legislation, communication preferences and requests for documentation and don’t actually read what you wrote to them or listen to what you say.
They only way to deal with these cowboys is to report them to ASIC and the ACCC. They’ll probably be charged again the way they conduct themselves!

My partner had offered them the maximum amount he could pay and they refused and wanted more. They then sent multiple emails saying that he had ignored them and will be going to court. He has rung them every time he has received an email. I then receive a text message on my number for the first time since he has been getting emails for 3 months. So they took my mobile number and added it to his account. When I called them to say that that’s illegal to do and this isn’t his number they got very rude and aggressive saying this was the number he put originally which was most definitely a lie. they also gave me his details without knowing who I was and if I knew him, and if I remember the law correctly everything I have just said they have done is 100% illegal

Received an sms so I rang them. Told me I owed money for a product, which I denied. He became quite rude when I asked to be supplied with an original invoice as proof of purchasesBecame threatening so I threatened him back with reporting him. Black Collect needs to understand that the LAW requires an invoice when trying to claim someone owes money.
