My opinion is this would be the most stressful, humiliating and depressing experience I have ever had hiring a company. After more than a year of time to complete the 100% paid job (retainers and fence shared with neighbour, retainer and steps, level up. Prep turf, lay turf, gates), if they actually showed up and did anything, as the engineer told us, it was woefully insufficient and has to be torn down. The engineer wrote up an official report which was sent to them.



Still has not refunded me even $1, even though most of the job has never been started (fence, steps, prep for turf, turf, gates), will no longer reply to myself and we have had to submit complaints with the office of fair trading and qbcc for support. Truly awful experience. I hope they will do the right thing and issue a refund.

Would NEVER recommend MCEL to anyone. Absolutely hopeless, poor time management, lack of communication, all round awful experience with this company. Paid our deposit back in July 2021 for less than 35 lineal metres of fencing and some retaining walls. The work did not start until 28th December 2022 (17months after deposit was paid), and the fence is still not done at 24th Jan 2023 (18 months after deposit was paid). Have been given countless "expected completion" dates over the course of this 18 month period, with all of them falling through for countless number of excuses. They will show up for 2 days a week (3 if we are really lucky), work for 3-4 hours then leave and not come back for a week or two.



Requested a partial refund of $6450 for part of the work we decided against in January 2022, now at Jan 2023, we have only received $500 of this amount. I really wish we knew what we were up against before paying them. I would never give any more work to this company or suggest them to anyone. Absolute joke of a business.
