Fujitsu Airconditioning Free Money $400 Cash Back Scam Be Warned

Recently I purchased and had installed a Fujitsu inverter multi-head air conditioning system for my home. I paid the not inconsiderable sum of $7648 to a local installer. I chose Fujitsu solely on the basis of taking advantage of the Fujitsu Free Money $400 cash back offer advertised extensively on TV by front-man Mark Taylor. Had this cash back offer not been offered I would have chosen the cheaper alternative quote for a Mitsubishi system.

I wanted to pay the invoice which is in my name by EFT from my savings account, but my bank had a $5000 limit on electronic fund transfers. The only other option I had was to make the payment from the cheque account of my Family Trust. After paying the installer for the purchase I submitted an on-line claim to Fujitsu for the $400 cash back. This was rejected emphatically by the company on the basis that the fine print in their rather daunting list of terms and conditions states that purchases for and in the name of Trusts and companies etc are not eligible.

The air conditioner was installed at my personal place of residence and was paid for out of owner drawings from my Family Trust Account which are for personal expenses. It was not a business expense of the Family Trust. The method that I happened to use to pay for the product should be of no relevance to the cash back offer.

I cannot see any logical reason why this should disqualify me. I had every expectation that as a private home owner I would qualify for the advertised offer.

Had I paid for the product from a personal savings account or credit card, there would be no question as to my eligibility. It is therefore very unfair that I am disqualified just because of the way I had paid the supplier.

Stay away from Fujitsu and this so-called free money offer. It is misleading and just too risky.
