DO NOT HIRE AS YOUR KIDS DRIVING INSTRUCTOR

DO NOT HIRE AS YOUR DRIVING INSTRUCTOR.

Mike berates his students over and over for not being able to do the skills or requirements within a short period of time, rather than do as he is employed to do, and SHOW them WITH PATIENCE, HOW to do it, until they become confident and competent.

Instead, he belittles and ridicules when he should be demonstrating patience and tolerance.

He verbally insults, takes phone calls while instructing (including personal ones), doesn’t return parent queries despite insisting he has responded, and is generally arrogant.

Learner drivers are just that, learners.

It’s the instructor job to help the learner driver become competent - however long it takes for that individual - and more importantly, to ensure they are learning in a safe and respectful space.

Mike’s conduct and manner as an instructor is completely inappropriate. If he was a teacher in a school he would be removed from student contact and reported to the Dept of Education

The Driving instructor that was teaching me to drive was pretty good during my very first lesson with him. During the 3 weeks i was driving with him, he was being helpful in telling how to driving roundabouts properly. However, this morning when i had my driving lesson with him, for about 30 minutes i was doing ok but it was when he started giving me negative feedback about my driving, saying that i'm a terrible, lazy driver all because he thinks i don't check the side mirrors when he tells me to. He even yelled at me saying that i'm a terrible, lazy driver and said that me being a lazy driver tells him that i'm a lazy human being in real life which is not true.

One of my friends from school had the same driving instructor before me. She told me that he told her that she needs to sort out her "woman" problems and also gave her negative feedback.

This man is a sad and hateful person that just aims all his anger issues towards people whom he teaches driving to. So, he is a pretty good driver most of the time but this person expects you to be able to do what he tells you to do. He'll also expect you to remember he taught u that lesson for next lesson. Also, if he says something like "the things you have to improve on are..." then he'll expect you to improve on it and make it perfect by the day of your next driving lesson. If you're looking for one that won't yell at you or your teen when explaining something to you or giving you negative feedback. The driving instructor at Crossroads Driving School is not for you.
