Recently my Toyota RAV 4 Cruiser, became unstable during driving, after a regular service with rear brake & tyre replacement. The problem wasn’t there before it’s service. My usual repair workshop at Epping, has done this service.

I took the vehicle back to them and asked to find the problem. After few days later, I received a message with a video, saying that the whole rear suspension has to be replaced. The cost was given as $2600 with genuine parts or $1090 with compatible parts. As I spent more than $1000 for the regular service, I thought of getting a second opinion and posted my problem in AutoGuru.

Within 24 hours I was contacted by S V M Automotive at Epping, (Steve & his Team) and asked to bring the car for an inspection. Steve wants to verify whether the vehicle really needs replacing the rear suspension. So I went to him and handed over the vehicle. I received few updated within a very short period, and the problem found by them was, a loosen arm in the rear suspension. They tightened up it and suggested to redo the wheel alignment. Because they found the wheel alignment wasn’t correctly done at the previous tyre replacement place.

Steve’s repair cost was just for the wheel alignment! Huge saving from previous quotes. It was unbelievable that, how irresponsible of some mechanics in diagnosing and Quoting, when it comes to the regular customers !!

Steve replaced the remaining two tyres upon my request and fixed some additional problems such as spear wheel cover lock and back door without a fee.
