Sharp N Stylish

This was my second visit, so different from the first. I paid $400 and my foils were over processed in the front and ugly. I was told it would be a little lighter in the front as this was ‘on trend’ but it looked like the botched job it obviously was. There was a patch in the back where the bleach had bled and although this was obvious if I hadn’t mentioned it I know it would have been ignored. I had asked for creamy blonde but what I got was ugly yellow and white. Will definitely not be returning.

Abby did my foils and trim today. The colour is exactly what I had asked for and the cut perfect. The salon itself is beautiful and relaxing. All in all a good experience. Attention to the comfort and happiness of their clients is obviously important to the team.

As a new client I visited this salon over a week ago now after a year of travelling and relocating to Terrigal. I chose this salon based on my research and also location being close to my gym.



I booked on-line as I usually do and as all salons provide a choice of stylists I selected Hollie, the owner of the Salon as my stylist and also sent a personal message addressed to Hollie as my initial introduction to the salon as a new client and also clearly outlining my request for the day.



I’m extremely selective when choosing hair salons and particularly being my first visit I chose a trim and a blow-dry with the view to discuss colour and for Hollie to get to know me & my hair.



When I arrived I was greeted & seated by a young apprentice which is not unusual but to my complete shock and surprise she informed me that she would be doing my hair on the day.



I explained that with all due respect I had specifically selected Hollie with my on-line booking with the required booking fee and was then advised that Hollie was busy. There was no explanation.



This so a very small salon so with Hollie clearly close by she would have been well aware of the situation. Not once did Hollie interact or introduce herself to me as clearly a new client to the salon, her business.



As it was a little awkward for me with the apprentice and as I’d paid a non-refundable booking fee I allowed the apprentice to just slightly trim my hair as after much travel I did really need it.



She was a lovely girl and I will say that she was thorough and professional with her service.



I left the salon still at a complete loss as to how or why that whole experience could happen?



Later that day I chose to email Hollie personally and was sure there would be a response with a logical explanation, however after over a week now, I still have had no response at all from Hollie.



From other reviews, sadly it appears that Hollie’s lack of response to clients is not at all unusual.



As a business coach of many years working Nationally in the Beauty Industry and also having owned and operated my own business with a reputable Day Spa, I can say from my own personal and professional experience that there would never be one new client that I would not only acknowledge but would certainly embrace with a personal warm welcome to my business.



I will also say that if any client, particularly a new client takes the time to formally correspond via email a business owner personally providing the opportunity to respond at least with an explanation, I am at a complete loss why that would be totally ignored.



I love to provide positive feedback and google reviews, however in this case there is very little that is positive for me to provide feedback on apart from the service of the apprentice on that day.



I could not recommend this salon and I certainly will not be returning.



I also know for a fact that most customers won’t take the time to provide such feedback but will tell many about a bad experience as business is hugely built by referrals and recommendations.

Colour nothing like i wanted."blond" foils turned grey.unbelievably expensive.person cutting was rushed,not focused.i informed of my ears protruding,but she kept cutting and now they are not covered! They would not give any idea of prices on the phone.would NOT recommend!
