TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - NEVER AGAIN!!!

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - NEVER AGAIN!

I hired Louise from Tails & Whiskers to groom my cats, with the most recent occurrence being my third.

I have had problems with her in the past, but I decided to continue on with her as her rates were the cheapest and I am on a limited budget, so it makes my options rather limited.

Unfortunately however, this last time, I arranged for her to groom three of my cats, as they are all long haired breeds and are unable to groom themselves.

I explained to Louise that I just wanted the knots and mats removed from their coats, and nothing else.

I left her to do the job as I didn't believe I would need to monitor her as she is a professional groomer, so I trusted in her and her abilities.

It wasn't until later that same day, well after she had left, that I first noticed a problem, when I saw blood on the floor, right where one my cats was lying, and that upon closer inspection, realised the blood was coming from my cat's paw.

I tried to pick up her paw to have a closer look, but she wouldn't let me touch it. Then, when she began to get up and walk, I noticed that she was limping.

At no time before the grooming, were any of these injuries apparent, leading me to believe that Louise attempted to clip my cats claws and caused an injury in doing so, despite me not even telling her I wanted their claws clipped, as I didn't, because of something else that had happened a time before.

A cats claws should never bleed when clipped properly, unless you cut the quick, which is something any experienced and knowledgeable groomer should be well and truly aware of.

This is now the second time Louise has clipped my cats claws and caused an injury.

Because of what I believed had happened to my cat, I then began to look over each one that had been groomed and was shocked to see that two of my cats still had many knots left on their coats.

The knots that I found were very obvious (on their sides and around their necks), and not something Louise should have missed at all if she had done her job properly in the first place.

Now, this means that I will need to either attempt to remove them myself, or pay another groomer to do it for me at my own expense.

On top of the physical injury to my cat and the fact that the grooming was done poorly, and now needs more attention to rectify, I found Louise to be rude, short-tempered and very rushed.

After she had groomed two of my cats, she seemed quie stressed and exhausted, so I asked her if she'd like to have a quick break before grooming the next cat, but she snapped back at me and said she couldn't as she didn't have the time, and then her whole demeanour changed. She appeared VERY stressed.

She seemed very short with me and was in an obvious rush to get the job finished which is most likely why she did such a poor job with grooming my cats in the first place.

Then, when it came time to pay for her services, we had another minor problem, and she once again was quite rude , blunt and short tempered with me in explaining how payment by card works - it ended up working out but her attitude was really quite appalling and not something I wish to allow myself to experience ever again.

If Louise continues to conduct herself in this extremely poor manner, and rush through the grooming like she did with my cats, the only ones to get hurt by that, will be our pets.

Louise needs to stop and reassess her obligations and understand how important it is to slow down. She is obviously overworked and has over committed herself to her clients. If she doesn't rectify that, sooner or later, she may find herself facing a lawsuit.

All I know for sure is that this woman won't be going anywhere near my cats after what she has done.
