The Butcher's Block

I’m in the butcher shop, I ask for 800g of mince. She wrapped it up, and said $12 please. I knew that doesn’t sound right, because it’s $24.99c/kg so at 800g it’s always around the 20 dollar mark. This has happened before where they have given me only 500g. This time another server suddenly says to me with an attitude, I don’t have to buy it. I don’t know what he meant by that, so I asked him and said I don’t understand. He refused to answer me and just walked off out of sight.



And this isn’t the first time that this has happened either. I guess the words five and eight sound so similar. Then they gave me two receipts, one for 500g and another for 300g. I’m beginning to think there’s more to it than meets the eye can see. By splitting your order maybe they make an extra few cents from it. I don’t know, I can only speculate.
