Dr. Bobby Chacko saved my life. I have type 2 diabetes, so I need to see a nephrologist at least annually. I moved to the Hunter region from Melbourne in 2015 and my GP referred me to Bobby Chacko. He requested a battery of tests. One of those tests, an ultrasound, was something that my Melbourne nephrologist didn't request. That detected a cancer on a kidney. It was surgically removed just in time.

In the longer term, he has, in close conjunction with my GP, changed my meds around and given me guidance about diet. All my numbers are now good, including my HbA1C, which has been under the diabetes threshold for about a year.

He's friendly, knows what he's doing, is very good about explaining things and telling you what the numbers mean. He cares. He's not one of those remote doctor types.

He's one of the good guys.
