First Choice Washing Machine Repairs

Ryan came out same day fixed my machine on the spot he showed me the issue talked me through the repairs and displayed the parts he was going to replace .my machine is working and loads of cloths to be washed this weekend thank you

Ryan seemed very helpful and considerate but he saw an older woman who knew very little about the workings of my washing machine. He charged me $500 to replace a part but didn’t do anything!



I used to work on motorbikes so a washing machine is not that complex and I've cleared the drain pump before. Anyway the drain filter was fine but the machine wasn’t spinning so I needed a repair.



Ryan came very promptly and was very polite. He actually got the machine spinning but maybe he thought I didn’t hear it. Ryan came out and said it needed a new drain pump and suspension dampers. He could do the pump straight away but had to order the dampers and all up it was going to be $500. So saying he was concerned about my dog, he shut the door and “replaced” the pump in 10 minutes!



After I paid the $500 Ryan left very quickly.



So I got suspicious. I looked closely at the machine and it was evident he hadn’t replaced the pump. The clincher was when I asked him to send me a photo of the old pump - the photo was of a black plastic pump and I’ve looked at the drain pump a few times and it’s a very light colour.



Anyway he took the moral high ground and said he was saddened by my actions (?) but immediately promised to refund. I don’t mind paying for expertise but I don’t like getting ripped off.



I have photos that prove this if it’s needed.

From my initial contact about my washing machine, I have received regular updates regarding parts availability. The door handle had broken inside on my front loader & the part was still available. The whole door was replaced instead due to the lengthy time it would take to replace the inner clip inside the handle. Labor was drastically reduced by just putting on a new door & so was my bill.

Ryan came out and fixed my machine the next day after calling over 5 different companies all had a wait time of over a week thank you first choice washing machines

I have never in my life dealt with such an inefficient, poorly run business. It has taken me over two months to finally ‘close the door’ on my dealings with Ryan. Even though the ad says guaranteed rapid turnaround time, open 24 hours etc., this is totally untrue. I was assured a technician would attend to my machine in 24-48 hours of calling. This extended out to two full weeks with me calling most days only to be fobbed off with a myriad of excuses. Eventually after a cursory check of my two year old machine Ryan could not repair it and said he would reimburse my pre-payment of $550. Well, this was as bigger a debacle as getting him to look at my machine!!!!! Here we are at 28/2/25 (from 16/12/24 initial call) and at last I have my reimbursement but to say it was akin to getting blood out of a stone is an understatement. If you want incredible stress and heartache, use this company, otherwise avoid at all costs.

Ryan diagnosed the issue within minutes and had my washing machine up and running in less than 30 min, after replacing the drain pump. Also gave me some great free advice on avoiding odours and mould build up.

Ryan diagnosed the issue with our 25yr old washing machine over the phone! It was as easy as Ryan ordering a new computer board from Melbourne, installation took less than 15min! Ryan was very professional and easy to communicate with!

We had to call Samsung customer care for help because our Samsung bubblewash washing machine pump filter broke down. They put us on to a “local (not local) tech” to come out. Well they didn’t answer my calls emails or texts and we needed a working machine fast so we looked online saw a few places but only one did Samsung machines. First Choice Washers.



Ryan, the owner of First Choice washers was excellent with his communication and I really appreciated his flexibility around my very busy day off work. He also called me straight away and texted and was able to come the next day and as we already knew the issue he had the parts ready to go.



We had since finally heard from the company Samsung put us on to but I found them to be very money minded and communication skills lacking not to mention spelling my name wrong (I hate that) and the earliest they could do was over a week away. Not good enough. I’ll be cancelling their job.



Ryan from First Choice arrived when he said he would and got straight into it and said he could fix it on the spot (rather than going away and coming back another time and charging more). He quoted cheaper /mid range and top range pumps. The top of the range of course being better quality. I went for mid range as it’s what I could afford and Ryan offered to put in the more expensive pump for same price. Ryan knows his stuff about washing machines and he saved us from possibly having to go out buy a new machine as all new machines have cheap pumps not designed to last.
