Big store with average service

In terms of price and stock for road bikes, compares fairly well to other places we've looked. In terms of customer service? Stunned mullets. We were in the shop for a good 15mins and not one of the three staff offered assistance or even acknowledged our existence, despite the store being fairly quiet. When we approached the bored looking staff member at the front counter, he proceeded to walk us to the bike we were interested in, then stand there silently staring off into the distance as we tried to figure out the bike's pros and cons ourselves. Have received much better customer service, help and information elsewhere. I would advise Lawrencia bikes to look into up-skilling their staff or re-hiring. We'll pay the few hundred more to buy a bike from a store that actually provides us with a good customer experience.

Lawrencia of Hawthorn are unquestionably the Prince Regent of bicycle stores. This store predates the silver fox cycling craze sweeping not just Australia but the world. Ten years ago, it was inconceivable that recreational cycling would overwhelm interest in the professional ranks- but that is exactly what has happened. Travel any arterial on a Sunday morning in any city in Australia and you can be sure you will be stuck behind a portly pelaton of identically clad enthusiasts at some point.

Lawrencia are riding that wave and deservedly so. They have a tremendous amount of stock on hand, excellent in house nous and a willing and enthusiastic staff. They are not just about cycles, but this is rightly their bread and butter.
