Zen Japanese Restaurant

I have eaten once at Zen. It was a bit small and cramped to be really confortable and I did not see the value in what I was eating. I didn't mind the food, but it was on the high side for price and I expected better. They cannot fit many in so it is worth reserving a table if they let you (they don't always.

We used to like this place because it provides an elegant Japanese dining experience whilst keeping prices affordable. But over time it seems that the prices have increased and its lost some of its charm.
The quality of the food is good and the lady owner (we think she is Korean) is so sweet and wonderful. She is always smiling and polite. The chef is Japanese and he does come out to say hello to the diners from time to time. This personal touch gives a pleasurable dining experience. Our favourite dish is the Nabeyaki Udon, and so far it is still one of the best places for this dish. Also recommended is the bento set (particularly the salmon) and its great because you get a taste of different flavours and feel satisfied. It can no longer be our everyday dining place because of the increase of price, but I'm sure well go back there from time to time.
