Eyecare Kids

I took my 3 year old daughter and husband to see the team at Hillsdale, Dr Jesse and Mark were thorough, friendly, great with kids and very knowledgeable! Not my first interaction with this practice - we are well looked after each time! I would definitely recommend this practice to look after your whole family's optical needs!

My 4 yr old daughter was recently diagnosed with eye problems through the preschool screening program. My daughter was referred for 2 further assessments and subsequently diagnosis via an ophthalmologist at Sydney Children's Hospital. The ophthalmologist gave us a prescription for glasses. But apart from instructing me that my daughter must constantly wear her glasses he failed to clearly explain the eye condition or educate us further about outcomes and alternative therapies. I walked into Soojins practise at Eyecare kids in Hillsdale after already having my daughters glasses made by another optometrist. Using her state of the art equipment, Soojin discovered within seconds that the prescription on the glasses was not the prescription given by the doctor. She proceeded to do a full examination of my daughters eyes. Soojin thoroughly explained the condition, expected outcome and time frame as well as therapy options. Soojin's treatment strategy is to improve sight through a combination of finding the correct prescription while at the same time maximising the eyes independent function with exercises. Her professionalism, sincere patient care and logical clinically proven treatment strategy even impressed my very cynical and difficult mother. The staff at Eyecare are also fantastic and helped us to choose glasses that suit my daughter perfectly. Soojin is a gem and in my opinion the best in her field. I wouldn't trust anybody else to correctly manage my daughters eye condition.

Eye care kids are so friendly and so trustable of they do and confident as well.
I took my daughter there for a normal eye check up and she end it up having problem in her eye where the optometrist soojin Nam was explaining to me so calming with high respect which I totally appreciated and we started the eye therapy for my daughter and she started to improve a lot better at school and all area of her education:)

I first met Soojin about 10 years ago when I randomly walked in a corner eye-care shop in Bankstown. She showed me how a professional would work - checked my eyes, recommended the glass and adjusted the frame that could fit me well (not everyone could adjust my frame well - I have tried), and suggested a good payment plan. Ever since I have been following her, trusting her for my eyes and now also my daughters'. She is treating my older daughter's eyes for ortho-k.

Over years, I have seen her eye-care shop having been developed to the largest in the area, her joint operations in other shops, and her dedication to the newly established specialized kids eye care shop at Hillsdale. I followed her to the kids eye care shop at Hillsdale where she normally now is working for most of the days, and witnessed the shop built from scratch gradually gaining popularity, for the same reasons I cast my trust on her.

Now Soojin is not just an optometrist for me. She is something more. During my visits, I talked about my problems, in my work and in my personal life. She shared her education path of from Sydney Girls to the University of Sydney, and to further development, her volunteer experience in East Timor, and her experience of motherhood. Last time when I visited her which was two weeks ago, she told me that she had been invited to an important conference to be held in Mumbai the next week, and she seemingly enjoyed the hard work of material preparation.

Having said the above, I have no hesitation to recommend Soojin to people who wants a professional and who care about their eyes. And I wish Soojin be ever success in her career and in her business, bringing more views to people in need.
