Had the most disappointing meal last night. Samosa overcooked and dry. Onion Bhaji flavourless and dry. "Saffron' rice - at $5 a serve - was, we were told by our waitress, 'steamed rice with colouring added' - not a skerrick of saffron in sight. Kerala Prawn curry contained 5 prawns in a sickly sweet sauce - rather expensive at $17.90 (that's more than $3 per prawn). The butter chicken was similarly lacking in spiciness and flavour. Lamb Saag, which in the past has been lovely, had no heat and contained large chunks of meat rather than bite-sized pieces...makes it difficult when you're trying to share. The garlic naan, although a generous serve, was made using either jar or dried garlic - surely grating a bit of fresh garlic isn't too difficult. Although our waitress was efficient, I think she went beyond efficiency when she began sweeping the floor before we had finished our wine. We have had quite good food at Bollywood in the past, but it will be a long time before we attempt another meal there - if ever.
