Electra Lift Company

If you are thinking of buying an apartment in a building with one of these lifts you should run. Run far away. It is a red flag that the developer is prepared to cut every corner possible in order to make a profit. It would surprise me if this company is not in some external administration within 12 months. If it isn't, I intend to put it there.



I have lived in a building with one of these lifts on Crown Street (near Oxford Street) for a number of years. The lift persistently broke down for several years. I once got trapped in the lift for two hours. The phone function on the lift panel didn't work.



After years of issues with the lift, the body corporate spent a substantial amount of money on an overhaul by Electra Lifts. The overhaul took substantially longer than they told us it would.



The kicker is that the overhaul has made the lift substantially worse. It is now out of action constantly. It is the same pattern every time. The lift breaks. We get an email conveying an assurance that the lift will be fixed within a matter of days. The lift is not fixed within a matter of days. Electra is nowhere to be seen. The elderly and those with mobility issues are stuck in their apartments.



If you are from a building with similar issues please reach out in these comments. I am very interested in exploring further action of a more formal nature against them.

our lift is less than 1 year old and been out of action for 2 weeks -they have no estimated arrival date of the parts from china

how can a lift company selling very expensive products not have spare parts in stock? - absolute disgrace

Purchased a 5 lift system and within 5 years of installation, all 5 lifts are continuously breaking down. Electralift was the service and maintenance company also responsible for the up keep and they failed to even manage simple not technical tasks such as replace buttons or clean the lift exhaust fans. Poor quality equipment and lifts that fail daily. Service technician simple resets the lift but doesn’t fix the cause resulting in majority same day breakdown. Residents stuck in lifts for hours due to no response to emergency button in lifts. Engage this company at your own risk. Cheaper upfront is definitely not better and we are paying for it now tenfold. Electralift refuse to repair under warranty and are about to be reported to the ACCC and fair trading to hopefully have the company take responsibility for their products sold worth hundreds of thousands to consumers under consumer protection laws. Never want any other consumer to be duped because this seems to be a standard business practice applied by Electralift based on other online reviews clearly displaying a doggy trend.

Our lift has been broken for 9 days out of the last 14 and this is the second WHOLE weekend. I have had to walk 8 flights of stairs twice daily for the last 2 weeks. They keep coming and making small repairs, however it only lasts a few hours. They don't have weekend technicians.



Our service contract is finishing in October and I believe that they are avoiding a major service prior to the contract finishing.



This is extremely disappointing. If you're making a decision, I would recommend Kone or Schindler any day over Electra.

EVER SINCE ELECTRA LIFT TOOK OVER THE MAINTENANCE ON OUR LIFT, IT'S NEVER RUN SMOOTHER AND PROBLEM FREE. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WAS THE SERVICE MANAGER KEPT US INFORMED ALL THE TIME OF WHAT THEY WERE DOING TO SORT OUT OUR PROBLEMATIC LIFT WHICH THE PREVIOUS SERVICE PROVIDER NEVER CARED ABOUT.

Absolutely irresponsible, insensitive business without any consideration for people paying them for what supposed to be services. It now three days elderly and disabled people in our building trapped in their units, and no official information from lift service company on why lift is not fixed yet and when it will be fixed.
