Albert Park is a short, easy public course on land that is flat beside Albert Park Lake. I have played it about 8 times. It is close to the city and you can play with friends after work. Few of the holes are memorable but its cool that it is still there and survives given so many changes in the Albert Park area. After a lot of rain it stays dry because it has couch grass fairways that dry out quickly and gets drying winds off the lake. One negative is the close proximity of busy roads on some holes. The hole at the far end of the course near Macrob Girls High is downright dangerous as it curves around but the green is reachable by long hitters - who cant see if anyone is on the green. I have almost hit someone once. The course is closed for the Grand Prix in March (and for a week or so before) and there is usually some damage to the course for a couple of months after. Getting into the carpark is tricky - check a map before you go. Also be aware that there is a golf driving range on the other side of the lake so you might want to warm up there before the round. If you are considering this course you might also consider Sandringham, Brighton, or Cheltenham or in a pinch, the Elsternwick 9 hole course. Yarra Bend is also fairly close to the city but in the other direction.
