Melbourne Central is the premiere shopping centre in Melbourne CBD. It goes across several floors and the building itself is iconic with the cone design, and also the large clock that chimes each hour and seems to draw the tourists. It has all the major clothing brands there and plenty of food options in the food court. It also has the train station, Coles supermarket, a Fitness First, cinemas and bars on site so you cant go wrong.

I am not exactly sure where melbourne Central begins and ends as it blends in so well with the shopping centres to the south. Well it used to and no doubt will again once the construction on latrobe street is complete.

There are so many stores and so many levels that I often get a bit misplaced and cannot find I am looking for. Food is plentyful but getting a table is really tough. There is a section near the corner of latrobe and swanston that has a few nice bars and restaurants.

I prefer the quirky QV nearby for most of my eating but Melbourne central offers some nice choice for fasion.

Melbourne Central certainly dominates the CBD as being the biggest shopping complex in the city. It's undergone numerous transformations over the years and I think has been quite successful and finding a good mix of shops, food and entertainment, and allacrossa large area. Being home to one one of the biggest subway stations also ensures it gets plenty of traffic through.

For me I like it due to the fact it has shops that cater very much for the males as well as females. They've also managed to create multiple food precincts throughout.

Definitelyworth including it on your plan during your next shopping trip. In fact it's such a central part of city shopping that you'd probably end up there even if youdidn'treally plan for it!
