Today I rang the Kew East Branch 3 times and after waiting on the line approximately 7 minutes each time, a pre-recorded message tells me " we apologise that we can't take your call right now. please try again later or call our (so called) customer service centre" and then hangs up. After calling the customer service centre and basically getting another politician style apology, with zero accountability, I am asked if there was anything else that they could help me with. As they were of no help, I told them so and hung up. I then decided to just go to the branch and take my chances. Well low and behold I discovered why no-one could take my call. The staff were too busy stocktaking. Stocktaking in my retail experience was always done after hours so as to not disrupt the service given to customers. However that would be more expensive and in this day and age of money grubby corporates, that would not be cost effective. Just a note. Without customers you don't have a job, let alone a stocktake to do. Not good enough Officeworks!!!!!
