Eureka Village Camp

The rooms and ac have the most mold ive seen year round and the food is constantly terrible.

Being the only place to stay around goonyella riverside mine, I was placed here. I had a late day from work and needed to get some laundry done before heading home so I skipped dinner knowing that the wet mess (where you can buy food+snacks) is open till 9:30pm. I did my chores and head to the wet mess only to find that it was already closed 15mins earlier than it supposed to be. If I had known that they close unreasonably earlier than they say, I would’ve gone to dinner.



Cameras are loaded everywhere constantly watching you with some power tripped staff members who have a chip on their shoulder. It seems like the camp is designed to create mental health issues by treating grown adults like juvenile prisoners. It’s not a nice environment to come back to after a long days work.



As for the food. I’m here quiet a lot and one of the saving graces is that, for 2 weeks a month the food is really good. Must be a head chef who’s on a 2/2 roster. When that chef isn’t in, the food is trash.



Just leaving a review knowing it’s not gonna go anywhere anyhow… but hopefully the staff or someone sees this who can make a change
