Vetcall

Took my dog to vet with an intermittent cough. Was advised she had an enlarged heart and put on Vetmedin meds and fluid tablets ($100). I was extremely upset with the diagnosis and was told I could be referred to a Cardiologist to check how bad it was. Went to cardiologist, who did more xrays and ultrasound and was informed she just had bronchitis and would only need a cough suppressant. After nearly $2000 for cardiology appts my pet insurance claim was declined as the cough was classed as a pre-existing condition. The new x-rays showed a normal size heart for my dogs breed and age, so an enlarged heart was a misdiagnosis. Thankfully my dog is okay, but very disappointed with the whole experience.

I have always taken my 2 dogs to Mitch, a great vet. I rang on Friday as my little girl had cystitis, asking if I could have a 4 day account as my husband was away and had my credit card. I was told NO and to call The Animal Welfare, I did this. They saw my dog within an hour and gave me a 7 day account. So I know where I will take my dogs in future. Obversuly money is more important to Vetcall than a dogs health. Will never go there again
