Rare that I would go to the effort of leaving a Google review for bad service, however my experience last night and today was quite alarming.
I have eaten at this establishment over the years in-person, however last night had decided to order online. On the order I had written very clearly that I am allergic to prawns and not to include these in the stir fry.
Underneath the top rice there were prawns and the consequence had I eaten the prawns would have been great risk of going into anaphylactic shock.
I rang the establishment last night in a very bothered state and wishing to speak to either an owner/manager. I advised what had happened and expressed my extreme concern as to the practices of the kitchen, I was advised that the manager would call shortly and the owner was busy with patrons.
I called this morning half an hour after they opened and the manager had no idea, they stated that they would investigate and call me back as soon as they investigated. The owner called me back, denied culpability of the kitchen and stated that it was the front of house that did not read the notes for the stir fry. I was also advised that they were recording the telephone call for 'staff training purposes' and offered a complimentary $50 voucher.
In my conversations, I repeatedly raised the point relating to what they would be doing to address this serious issue to address such situations. It was unacceptable that 1) the incident occurred, 2) the manager did not call that night or know about it this morning, 3) that they are recording conversations out of concern should it be a legal issue for them, and 4) that they offer $50 without addressing what systems would be used to prevent such an issue taking place.
It goes without saying, given their indifference I am proceeding here on the basis of telling others about this experience. Appalling and utter indifference.
