This is my experience with H&D Construction.

On 4 April 22, I was given a quotation, to replace three panel glass sliding windows for $3,500 and other minor repair works.

Then on 6 April 22, he then sent me another revised quotation for $3,700 which I agreed regardless.

The quotation included replacing the damaged windows, repair of other windows and painting trade. P.S. I would have engaged other window suppliers not for the reason that I need other minor repairs besides replacing the windows.

I was told it will take 4 to 6 weeks, but it took 12 weeks after my numeral calls to the window supplier directly. At this stage, he suggested I pay him $550 as admin fee to cancel the job.

The quotation stated to pay 50% before ordering windows and 50% before delivery of windows, this is not in compliance to most ethical established window company like, Monaro Windows that ask for progressive payment. Nevertheless, I paid and wanting this job done.

It seems to me he just one to rush and complete the job in just one day, toward the end of the day, he told me may not repair the other windows and do the painting, I might have to pay him more or I should engage another painter. (For goodness’s sake, isn’t the repair scope was agreed in the quotation?)

Being a lone woman, I then called a male friend for help to speak with him, upon that, he then agreed to finished the job, but painting was done without sandpaper and other window frame was not repair but just have a single coat of paint.

Because of the delays the RBA had increased the rate 3 times while I was waiting for the repairs. As the result, I no longer think it is the right time to sell the house.

Will you think twice if you want to engage his service?
