Avoid like the plague.

Trevs transmissions in Malaga had my car from the 20th of march onwards. As of the 21st of may my car was towed from the first shop to this shop without my knowledge and found it via my tracking.

Niall lied straight to my face on multiple occasions, told me they were just changing the turbo inlet pipe on my car… which created suspicion because idk any gearbox shop that would only change a pipe. The first bloke had me take the gearbox out and put it in the car a total of 4 times in his workshop after many many failed attempts at fixing it, I called him up for an update one day and he told me he put my car on a tow truck and sent it to a “Subaru specialist in Rivervale” me knowing there is no Subaru specialist in Rivervale I opened my tracking all to find it at Perth gearbox.

Niall lied to me and said they have never opened or worked on my gearbox before when I visited to see what was going on, then the second time I visited to see why a turbo inlet pipe was taking weeks he told me he is waiting for the part off eBay.. got a new phone and cannot access his personal eBay account. When I asked him again if they have worked on my gearbox infront of his colleague whom I assume is actually his boss (although Niall claims to be an owner) he then told me he has infact opened my transmissions and worked on it. I didn’t address this then as after a 3 month period I just wanted my car fixed so I let it slide, although I have witness’ This week Thursday comes around and I get left a voicemail that the intake pipe has arrived but he will be unable to pick it up until Monday as he had it delivered to his home and not the workshop. I ring them back and his colleague tells me that he has gone home as he is sick, made me question why he didn’t have access to the inlet pipe which again I didn’t know what being fixed until he showed me my stock part in pieces “because they needed to get it out” so they cut it out. Friday the next day I go down to drop off a brand new battery as they claim my car had no reverse due to electrical interference. He tells me has the inlet pipe and shows this to me, says the car will be ready Monday or Tuesday….

Monday yesterday comes around after a 3 month mess around with them and the first workshop they took this job from (they are friends). He leaves me another voicemail explaining my car is completely done but he wants a $75 payment for the pipe which wasn’t discussed prior with me and infact was out of my knowledge it was going to be touched at all, so I said I’m not liable to pay for this, I did not even take my car to you guys so this payment needs to be requested from Trevs transmissions.That gets settled and I go to pick my car up, finally after 3 months I get to drive my car, I drive it home about a 25/30 minute drive.

Literally as soon as I get home my car just starts pouring out all of the transmission fluid (which they said they have worked on the transmission and thought they fixed it) apparently it couldn’t even be driven out of the shop or into the shop without “blowing the seal” so “when it didn’t do that they assumed the problem was fixed” and now they won’t honour any kind of warranty as I didn’t pay them directly and I paid Trevs transmissions who is paying them. Yet they released my car directly to me, asked me for payment of parts ect Noah said to go get a refund from Trevs transmissions, take my car to them and pay them to fix it. Which I clearly refused as they are incompetent for the job otherwise my car wouldn’t be pouring out trans fluid.

I dont blame Perths gearbox for the 2 and a half months prior to getting my car this is solely Trevs transmissions fault, what I do blame them for is the lying, the unprofessionalism and then giving me my car back, broken. Sus the pisstake piping in my engine bay, Just avoid

Excellent Service & Quality



Saw they had good reviews already and requested a quote to replace my blown clutch for my 07 Nissan Pathfinder. They gave knowledgeable advice on what clutch to put in, a fair quote and great communication. My 4WD now drives like a dream and I couldn't be happier with the work done. 10/10 in all areas.

bad work man ship

took a gear box to get serviced only to have it leaked and my clutch plate had then burnt out due to lack of oil that leaked from the pan, when another transmission specialist opened the box he found the gasket squashed and broken seal and oval bolt holes which then caused it to leak under pressure. this dodgy place put a paper thin gasket which is ok but not ideal for that situation, cork are used instead so think about it before you take your car their as they are no good workers.

Took my commodore there with a leaky gearbox that i had repaired at another work shop. turns out they fitted the wrong oil pump in my transmission so Ernie fitted the right one for me and gave it a few upgrades while it was out. its has never shifted so well and am very pleased with their service after having shoddy repairs done by another place.

I Lost All Gears Except 4th on My Pajero.. I was quoted way over what Perth Gearbox quoted so gave them a shot.. Work on the Paj was done to very high standards.. Everything is now back to new.. I'm very Happy with the service and the work done to my car by Ernie and the crew.. I gave them ample of time to work on the car and they did good.. I'm very satisfied and will recommend this place to anyone..
