King Street Design

When my (now) husband told me that the diamond merchant from whom he had bought my sapphire and diamonds had recommended King Street Design, I went straight to their website; I have to be honest, the off-the-rack pieces on display weren't to my taste, so I was a little apprehensive, but I put my faith in the expert opinion - and I'm so glad I did. Allan understood what I wanted from the outset, made honest suggestions about what would and wouldn't work and why, and I am thrilled with the finished product. It's even better than I had pictured. I absolutely adore my engagement ring and I regularly get compliments on it from relative strangers. We were so delighted with Allan's work that we had him make our wedding bands and some silver cufflinks for the groomsmen. We'd done our homework and found their prices to be very competitive and reasonable. Since our wedding, I have discovered by chance that two of my colleagues each had their engagement rings crafted by Allan also, and they too raved about his work. (I can attest that theirs are quite stunning pieces of jewellery). I would have no hesitation in recommending Allan's work to anyone, and I would go back there in a heartbeat if I wanted to commission another piece of jewellery.

I commissioned Allan to make my wedding band in March '13, sent him photos and was clear about the design I wanted. I was charged top dollar for it. It took 5months to have the band ready and it was available a week prior to my wedding. It was nothing at all like my original request and when I took it back in October after my honeymoon, Allan decided I had 'changed my mind' about the original design and wanted to charge me $1200 to 'fix it'. I refused to pay and Allan stopped communicating with me until I had the NSW Ombudsman involved. Finally he decided to change it to how it should have been, and promised me I would have it back for Christmas. It's been a long 3 months back at the jewellers... It's Christmas... And I still have no wedding band. He did find time to yell at my husband on Christmas eve however to tell us that 'things like this take time'... I suppose when you're not being paid, nor value your customers it's not worth your time.
