My partner and I stayed for one night in a "king room" which was awfully expensive as it was, however, considering the hotels usually consistent history as an iconic and reputable hotel for romance, entertainment and stunning location, the expense had little concern for us. UNTIL WE ARRIVED! To begin our disappointing experience; it took us close to 2 hours to even get through to park our car using our room key. The staff offered ZERO information/guidance nor even assist us with the electronic system they use to open the parking gates. 3 other cars of Hotel guests were queued along with us all having the exact same issue simply trying to park our cars to "enjoy" our stay in the hotel. Once finally entering the gates and parking our car in the evening, entering our "king room" revealed two single beds separate from each other and a bathtub shower that had mould in the grout; clearly the cleaners had tried to clean this however the grout was too far gone and had been taken over by mould. Fortunately I did not have to see the next "experience" as my partner was faced with a giant poo in the toilet bowl. The bathroom was equipped with only three commercial toiletries: shampoo, conditioner and body wash. No moisturiser or shower cap although it was nice to see they had a hair dryer however ancient it was. There was very minimal towelling, only 2 towels (so, 1 each) and a hand towel. There was a scratchy washcloth which we used as a floor towel rather than risk skinning ourselves.
The pool looked amazing from our balcony, however there were no clean pool towels available for us to use so we did not bother. The restaurant had already been closed, although we were not informed nor noticeably offered awareness of any room service meals, not even a menu; just a very small coaster sized scan code plaque hiding discreetly in the corner of a desk revealing "scan for room menu"
After pushing the kiddie beds together, we stayed overnight knowing checkout time to be 11 a.m. the next morning. At roughly 10:20am, a hotel staff member knocked on our room door asking if we were checking out that morning. I replied "yes at 11 a.m." to which the employee responded "oh, no problem. I'll catch up with you at the reception then"
Fortunately at reception, our check out processed extremely quickly, we were not informed as to the reason for the earlier interruption only an hour prior.
Quite agitated and awfully disappointed (to say respectfully) with the entire experience we endured at this hotel, we were quiet relieved knowing we could leave the unromantic, overrated and completely overpriced evening/morning behind us, a further insult confronted us at the exit parking boom gate restraining us from exiting in our car until we paid $30 for parking!! There was a miniature notification of a $15 full day parking fee which doubled in less than 24 hours... We paid this - more so to refrain from burdening ourselves furthermore on such a beautiful day in a usually spectacular locale. ABSOLUTELY APPALLING! OVERRATED DISGRACE!
