My biggest issue is that the main desk is closed, but when you call you are still directed there. This means that they literally do not answer the phone. If you call the main AVIS company line with an inquiry they will redirect you to the same unanswered phone line. Why has this not been fixed? A smaller issue was that I had an enquiry about my bill after we returned the car and the person at the desk was extremely unhelpful. They explained the bill by just continually naming and pointing out the charges, rather than explaining what they were. When I tried to explain what I was asking for they just printed out the same bill and did it again. I'm currently on my fourth call to AVIS after being redirected to the unanswered phone line, then to the NZ customer service line and finally having the line disconnect after finding the number myself for and calling costumer service.
