Very poor experience with receptionist

I haven’t met the actual doctor, so I have no complaints against him. However, I had a very disappointing experience with the receptionist at this practice. I waited around four months for a consultation because I am having frequent seizures (both tonic-clonic and absence seizures). I confirmed my appointment by replying “Yes” to their text message, yet when I arrived, the receptionist told me my appointment had been cancelled and insisted that I had said “No.”

I showed her the confirmation text, but she refused to acknowledge it until my mother intervened. Even then, she continued to insist she was correct. She offered no apology and no assistance in resolving the situation.

As a result, I lost an entire day’s pay after having to take unpaid leave, my mother paid for parking and fuel to drive into the city, and I was told I would have to wait another month for a new appointment. Considering the seriousness of my condition, this lack of care and professionalism is unacceptable.

Mistakes can happen, but what upset me most was the receptionist’s attitude—she was dismissive, blamed us for the error, and made no effort to accommodate or prioritise me despite the fact that this was their mistake. For a specialist practice dealing with serious health conditions, this is not the level of professionalism or compassion patients should expect.

This doctor is a moron

I have a problem in my upper cervical spine pressing on my spinal cord. Before the problem was discovered, I went to see this moron. He told me I was anxious, and had a migraine. I could not even walk properly. I am surprised this halfwit can even tie his shoe laces. Don't go to this doctor he is stupid and belongs in jail for negligence.

Had multiple episodes of Epilepsy and now gone

I had multiple epileptic episodes during my first year of engineering and it is now under control and have not had another episode in the last 6 months. I simply listed to what Dr Daniel McLaughlin said and also took medication he prescribed me. The Keppra was a bit tiring at the start but after few months I couldn't tell the difference and seizures also went from tonic clonic to absence seizures to now having no seizures. It took a bit for the medication to settle in but once it did the problems went away very quick.

Exceptional Doctor, incredible knowledge

I had seen three different neurologists before seeing Dr McLaughlin. The other three suggested identical treatments for my condition, which didn’t work, then threw their hands in the air. Dr McLaughlin got my condition under control through the use of medications that the other neurologists hadn’t even considered and when my condition deteriorated he was able to adjust my meds to cope with that. At every stage I was an active participant in my treatment. I contacted the doctor to let him know if there were side effects or to let him know if a medication was working. If there were issues I followed his advice. I have read some comments where people complain that the doctor doesn’t follow up with them after a visit, he, like most other specialists make it clear that the patient has to contact him.

Lovely doctor

I have dealt with many doctors (personally and in my work) and I would recommend Dr McLaughlin in a heartbeat. The new secretary is lovely and helpful and he is calming, reassuring and we always come out of the appointment feeling good.

"Lost" his number and email for a 4-month period in 2022.

He has patients. What sort of creep doesn't make specific efforts to follow up with his patients.

Pathetic bedside manner, rude staff, incompetent as a practitioner.
