Gp referral for anxiety - Mark Davoren spoke to the Biological mother who answered all the questions. With one appointment and No multidisciplinary back up or documentation of any kind Mark Diagnosed, referred NDIS and prescribed SSRI's to our daughter. No input was followed up on from the father. Daughter completely refuses diagnosis and stated outright "I didn't say that mum did" Father and stepmother requested a face to face to clear up the fiction the biological mother had stated to get a diagnosis. Appointment refused unless we had the biological mother in the appointment. Due to historical assault and hostile behaviour from the biological mother to father a request she only be included via phone was agreed. Clinical manager ignored the request and had the biological mother turn up to attend. Mark then only allowed biological parents into the meeting even though it was the father and stepmothers appointment booked. Biological mother dominated the appointment not allowing father to have input or get answers as to why he was not consulted. Father and stepmother have informed child services and OHO.

Dangerous! Gp referral for anxiety when in biological mothers home. With one review Mark Davoren, diagnosed, gave a script for medication and suggested NDIS. All without multidisciplinary back up and confirmation/input from the father. The biological mother answered the questions and got the result she wanted. Our daughter does NOT agree with what her mother had said and told us her mother answered for her. Contacted clinic and requested a sit down for father and step mother to clear up what Biological mother had claimed. Refused appointment without biological mother in attendance. Due to physical aggression from biological mother in the past - phone review input from her requested instead of in person. Clinic manager ignored request and got biological mother in to our appointment without informing us. Mark only allowed biological mother and father to go in even though it was us that requested the appointment. Biological mother dominated discussion and we still had to pay at the end even though we didn't get any answers. We did tell Mark we will not medicate our daughter as we had discussed this matter with medical services elsewhere concerning same. Child services and OHO notified as soon as appointment over.

We were seeking a Paediatrician who would provide us with a quality, informed medical opinion that we could rely on. Our overall expectation was that after consideration of all information collated from various relevant professionals working with the children, as well as his own independent assessment that Dr Davoren would provide an informed opinion and treatment plan. Instead, we were extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with our experience. Over a period of 2 ½ years accessing Dr Davoren’s service, ongoing reports provided have been inconsistent and contradictory and observations and concerns provided direct to him from other key professionals who interact with the child have been intentionally ignored and disregarded. Whilst maintaining the importance of gaining a holistic picture of the children as being important to ensuring that their best needs have been met, Dr Davoren has done anything but. He has openly refused to consider written documentation of observations from important stakeholders (e.g. the classroom teacher) as well as video footage of the child’s behaviour. When clarification has been sort about the inconsistencies in his reports, Dr Davoren has been rude and unwilling to provide an explanation. I certainly would NOT recommend him as a paediatrician.
