Unacceptable on every level !!!

I moved into an executive home 3 days before Christmas, only to find the back door trashed and unlockable, the pool already turning green, lights hanging from the ceiling with wires exposed, one of the showers missing a shower head, literally 40 light bulbs blown (which is most of the home), a central intercom that buzzed uncontrolably for 30 minutes every few hours, even in the middle of the night; and bollards next to the pool that pose a real and serious electrocution danger. Despite repeated requests, it took 2 weeks to get them to even respond, and after 8 weeks the issues are still not fixed, despite 4 x weekly requests to have the issues addressed.



The owner, of course, is telling them it's their problem due to their failures, but as arrogant as they are, I apparently didn't do enough to raise the concerns with them, despite hundreds of emails and phone calls.



Some key points:



* They failed to properly inspect the property after the last tenants departure, instead waiting for the new tenant to outline failures, clearly failing their duty of care ot property inspect a property at the end of a tenancy;

* They didnt respond to several urgent request to repair the back door for 3 weeks, rendering the property unsecure, and therefore unlivable, because they were all on holidays for Christmas

* After 8 weeks even normal maintnence issues have still been unaddressed;

* They seem to be less worried about their current clients as they are about building their rental book.



Now 8 weeks later; the shower is fixed; the door has been repaired; the pool still cannot be used due to an obvious electricution possibility over a rotted bollard with a light next to the pool; and the best they can offer... ?



In response, they offered $300 in compensation, on a property that costs $865 per week to rent, depite the fact the issues have not been resolved, and i have spent at least 100 hours chasing them up. The owner quite rightly was not going to pay for their failures, and they didn't want to accept liability for taking 8+ weeks to tackle maintennace issues, so now they bail with sheckles in their hand as compensation.



As a landord of other properties (that they thankfully don't manage), I'm offended.



As a tenant, I'm utterly incensed.



Do yourself a favour.... avoid these people at any cost.



Don't be fooled. Dodgy is their game. Excuses are their name.
