When originally contacted by this business I was told how professional they were and that a written quote would be given and everything would be put on paper. When the men arrived I showed the "boss" the several jobs I needed done which one was gutter cleaning and installing of gutter guard and removing and replacing a section of the guttering. He then suggested that they could do the cleaning and gutter guard installation on the spot for $200 and $10 per metre of gutter guard installation which I agreed to. During the cleaning I was asked about removing the rotten guttering which is something that needed doing so I agreed but started to be concerned that I had no quote and there were no materials to replace and cover the now gaping hole that was left in the rear of my house. After a couple of hours of cleaning and installing some of the gutter guard I was informed that they had to leave and would come back the next day to finish. By now I was extremely concerned by my decision and asked to speak to the "boss" before any more work was to be done. He sent his two "fellows" to finish the installation of the gutter guard and we agreed on a price over the phone for that work. I asked for a quote for the replacement of the rotten gutter which was also discussed over the phone but by then I decided that I wasn't happy with this kind of arrangement so I asked them to finish the gutter cleaning and gutter guard installation and that I would pay them for that work. I don't know whether $1100 which I paid for that job was too much but I just wanted it over an done with. I take some responsibility for not being strong enough to stand up to them and I do believe that some customers might be happy with this kind of laid back manner but I wasn't impressed.
