Fiddes Fencing

Poor communication, lies, delays, and lack of response. What they respond on their reviews is definitely not what happens, and they respond on google reviews faster than they get back to you about your fence!

Fiddes Fencing is our insurer (RAC)'s registered assessor so we got them assigned to quote us for fencing repair after our fencing came down with that crazy storm back in August - Corey came out to do the quote, he seemed professional and know his stuff. But then it all went down hill when it come to scheduling a time for repair. We were told to wait until November (4 months wait), I explained to Tony who seems to be the manager, that we have a toddler and our fencing is asbestos which is broken off the ground (health hazard) and our dog can escape to the neighbour's backyard, so we'd like to get it fixed as soon as they can squeeze us in. He was rude and dismissed me. Eventually now we're in Oct, I asked again for the schedule repair date so we can organize ourselves, he is now saying December.



It's ok to be busy, but you don't have to be rude and arrogant about it. This company is definitely a bad choice for RAC...

Rang the office for 2 days, trying to get some one to talk to about erecting a new fence. Eventually got someone and he was arrogant, brash and totally rude. I couldn’t believe the customer service I was getting. Hence, I didn’t request a quote for my new home and went else wear. Trust me, don’t use them.

Contracted these guys for a double gate. They delivered! Awesome- very happy. I'll go back to them, I thought! Worst mistake ever. The side gate they installed was too small- you had to turn sideways to fit through-, I asked for it to be as close to the ground and top of fence as possible- cat netting to be installed- their tape measure must have been broken that day. I could fit my whole arm thru the gap at the bottom and the top was a full 10 cm below the existing fence. Plus the gate didn't even fit properly- again I could put my arm thru the gap and the latch only JUST touched to close. AND left a massive mess. With lots of emailing back and forward, they were dismissive, so I eventually asked them to remove the gate. Went to another business who were shocked at the mess and workmanship I showed them on my phone pics. THEY managed to build the gate I wanted. Will never use or recommend Fiddes again.

RAC Insurance sent a guy out from Fiddes Fencing to give a quote for a Colorbond fence as he was a registered RAC assessor. He quoted more than the others which involved wanted me/us (it was a common or shared fence) to clear all the vegetation away which involved a tremendous and impossible effort due to established small palms and hedges being right up against the old fence. Also he wanted a trench dug and as much of the old fence removed as possible before they got there. Not only that, he didn't even measure it properly - he was over a meter out because he measured it in the wrong place because I knew the side fences were not parallel (I told him that as well) and he did it the easy way instead of corner to corner so I knew the measurement would be too long and it was. So with all these factors taken into consideration, no way would I get them to do the fence.

Fiddes seemed professional and ended up being totally the opposite

The job was characterised by poor communication and when that resulted in an inadequate specification Fiddes tried to pretend that they had not created the specification. The obvious error was ignored at time of construction resulting in a fence which was not fit for purpose. It was also shorter than contracted, a fact which they tried to avoid. Even so the job was invoiced. All Fiddes desired was to be paid even though they had not delivered. After multiple inadequate attempts at rectification they refused to acknowledge responsibility and desired only to be paid. Avoid at all costs!
