Kennel Cough!!!

So disappointed. We got Kennel Cough!!!! We dropped our 6 month pup off at 7am in peak Christmas period with flights to catch on a few hours later and when we arrived there was a massive sign on reception saying they had an outbreak of kennel cough. I was rather upset as I thought an email out to all owners would have been more responsible so that owners could make a choice and try to find alternative arrangements for their pets. I felt like I was backed into a corner by the resort and left so distressed.



I kept asking throughout our 10 day holiday how our pooch was doing and they kept assuring me she was fine but fussy with her food. 24 hours before picking her up again i emailed asking about the health of our dog and was reassured she was healthy and fine.



As soon as we got her home she was showing signs of full blown kennel cough and ended up in emergency as the cough was so severe. Our vet advised that this was definitely kennel cough in its most chronic stage which makes me wonder if they looked after her at all. I paid additional fees to have extra 1 on 1 time as well as 2 plays a day and would have thought if the staff are as great as other reviewers state that they would have picked up on this.



There is signs on the door stipulating no visitors or checks available during busy periods and the fences are so high that you cant see what conditions the animals are in.



I feel so mislead by this company. I hand them a healthy dog and in return I get a sick one back. They dont care and have a very ‘shrug of the shoulders response’ Its very poor form. If you are searching for a place for your pooch, keep searching!!!

Bella had a great time at Acacia Ridge Pet Resort, wouldn't take her anywhere else. Excellent care, lovely staff = happy relaxed dog.= happy owner.

Our dog has stayed at Acacia Ridge Pet Resort twice now and seems to love it there. We were impressed by the facilities and especially the service from the owners. We're happy to recommend Acacia Ridge to anyone looking for pet boarding kennels near Brisbane.

My dog, Rusty, was a grumpy and temperamental old thing. Ever time he stayed at Acacia Ridge Pet Resort he was happy, well fed and played with other dogs.

He also had a phobia of water but the owners of Acacia Ridge were able to bath him and he was happy to go back again time after time.

I cannot say how much it meant to me that I knew my dog was being well cared for while I was away, whether it was for a weekend or for several weeks.

I use the Pet Resort to board my Malamute and Whippet whenever I go away. They are always very eager to head into the kennels and get very excited when we pull up in the drive way.

Staff here are always very friendly and informative and always give feedback of their stay when I pick them up. I also sometimes call and email in to check on how my babies are going if I am away for longer times.Staff are very attentative and reassuring. Cost for my Mal is $23/day and for the Whippet is $21/day. This is for the standard accommodation, there are also Luxury Suites that cost $50/day, and $30/day for the second pet.

I like to board them in the standard kennels as I know they love socialising with all the other dogs and love all the interaction. I would reccommend the Luxury Suites for inside dogs that may not be so social or are super spoilt.

I definitely advise going to boarding kennels and having a look at all their facilities and seeing what kind of people will be taking care of your pets. I was most impressed with the Acacia Ridge Pet Resort and believe their prices are also on the lower end in brisbane.

I have boarded my dogs elsewhere, and I was not happy with their customer service or how my dogs seemed when I collected them. They were not bathed properly and didn't seem like they had a good time.

Youalso get a discount if you board your animalstogether in the same kennel, so that's a plus. The cost covers everything including food and a bath before I come to collect them so they always come home smelling great :)
