      Why are my brakes noisy?

      Brakes should operate with a minimal amount of noise. Some noise is normal, but excessive squeal, screech, grinding, groaning or banging means that your brakes need attention. Using the wrong formulation for your driving style can also cause noise in your brakes due to excessive heat.


      What is the cost of a brake service?

      Costs vary greatly depending on the make and model of your car and on the condition of your disc rotors, callipers and other brake components.


      There's a terrible vibration when I brake. What causes that?

      If the brake pedal, steering wheel or the entire vehicle shakes, vibrates or pulsates when the brakes are applied, then the disc brake rotors may need resurfacing. More serious problems, such as a loose component or a faulty steering mechanism, can also cause vibration.

      I've recently used Mechanix plus for the first time of being in Wynnum. Honestly, Fantastic blokes that are genuine, honest and reliable and super helpful. They are upfront and love to have a chat and they want to see you get your car back on the road correctly. They will show you where the problem is and explain it to you (they explaining is great as I am a woman and not knowing much about cars). I would absolutely recommend Machanix Plus to absolutely anyone.

      I have been taking my car to Mechanix Plus for about 3 years. Genuine, honest, and reliable team. Always upfront with costs. If anything extra is noted during a routine service that will add on costs to the original quote, they will call to inform me and check with me first before going ahead. I have had to call Ian and Adam a few times for some issues, and they have helped me out straight away. They really look after their customers. Highly recommended!

      I recently used Mechanix Plus for the first time. My car had not long ago been in a collision and had the front end repaired. The car had since been serviced twice by another 'franchise' mechanic in the local area who failed detect what should have been to a professional provider an obvious fault with the smash repairs completed - which has left the car unsafe to be driven.

      I've been using these guys for about 5 years (used to do my own). Always quality work and very upfront about costs and options. Today I had put my car in for work and they called me back suggesting less needed to be done than what I had asked for. Probably cost them about $200. Heaps of integrity! I have a lot of confidence that they are looking after my interests.

      I have just taken my newly purchased vehicle to Mechanix Plus, as I was concerned about a few issues with it. Turned up without an appointment and Ian and Adam were happy to point out the things that were wrong with it and what needed fixing urgently and what could wait. Great communication and very honest blokes, would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a mechanic in Wynnum.

      I've been using mechanics plus for years now, for both my personal vehicles and my small fleet of work vehicles. Having my work vehicles out of action can cost me thousands in down time though this has not been an issue since using mechanix plus. There expertise and experience is second to none and all comes at an extremely reasonable price.

      Great service and knowledge within this company .i had such a great and EASY experience with these guys .took my car in with a few problems that my car was suffering from and they had no problem in finding them and fixing them. Would recommend these guy to anyone who what's good old fashion SERVICE . Great bunch of guy to deal with. Will be going back every time.

      I have been using Mechanix plus for 5 years now and have never had problems. Fast, reliable and Aussie owned and run. Outstanding service and being able to talk with the mechanic who has worked on your vehicle puts your mind at ease. Well worth the drive from Indooroopilly for expert knowledge for all my motoring needs. 10 out of 10 and recommend to all.
