They wanted to charge a standard callout fee to visit my quadriplegic cousin to provide a quote to upgrade her system and provide training. This was going to be for thousands of dollars of work but it is their policy to charge for quotes. The reason given for not being able to do it was that their system was unable to handle it.

So the geeks are controlled by the system. Kind of ironic.
