Metropolitan Air Conditioning aims to keep our customers comfortable in all climates, all year round.
Our story began in 1995 with the inception of our first plumbing business in Adelaide, SA. Our modest operation soon grew across Australia as we followed our passion for delivering excellence into other utility trades, including air conditioning and other heating and cooling solutions. How qualified are your air conditioning technicians?
All of air conditioning technicians are fully qualified, insured and have undergone extensive training to meet our high quality standards before starting work with our clients. We continuously train our staff so they are up to date with leading air conditioning best practice.
Do you charge extra for public holidays or weekends?
No we don’t! Regardless of the day or time, we never charge extra for after-hours attendance.
What are the methods of payment?
On site, our plumbers accept cash, credit card or cheque. We also have finance options** to approved applicants. If you would like to take advantage of these, simply mention it on the phone to our friendly call staff.
What other services do you offer?
We also have a team of qualified electricians and plumbers, so if you need more than just your air conditioner serviced, we can attend to all your electrical and plumbing needs too!
Are you available on weekends?
We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including all public holidays!
How do you quote?
We quote by job, not by hour. And we’ll tell you the fixed price before start, so you know exactly what you’re up for.

We supply, install and service most makes and models of air conditioning and heating systems, including Braemar, Breezair, Kelvinator, Carrier, Lennox, Panasonic, Toshiba, Sharp, Nec, Hitachi, York and many more!
How quick can you arrive?
Wherever possible, we can be at your door within the hour*. If you have a time/date preference, we will always do our best to fit in with your schedule.

I’ve already left a review after the Metropolitan Air Con technician left yesterday and gave the service 5 Stars. However, I was feeling ripped off after paying $3,039 for the ‘Gold Service’ of my ducted AC system. I was also charged $141.90 Call Out Fee for which they took payment over the phone when I booked the service. I’ve never used them before and had not heard of Metropolitan before, and wish that I had read the other customer reviews before. Only now after the event have I discovered that they have ripped off many other customers. I feel so stupid and should have turned the technician away and shopped around for other quotes. I was shocked at the time he quoted this, but being a 15 yr old ducted AC which I had not had serviced for 5 years, I just wanted to get the job done. As the law states: Caveat Emptor : Buyer Beware! DO NOT GO NEAR METROPOLITAN PLUMING, ELECTRICAL, AIR CON! Watch the 9 News A Current Affair report + they are also under investigation by Consumer Affairs.

Metropolitan’s Air Conditioning technician arrived within the time frame agreed. He was neatly and professionally presented, knowledgeable, efficient, friendly and professional. Above all, my 15 yr old ducted AC is working now better than ever before. The only drawback I found was their pricing, which was a lot more than I expected to pay, however I agreed with the quote in order to proceed with the service. I would love to use their service again, but sadly, I don’t think I’ll be in a position to afford it again. I would recommend them, but would also advise prospective customers to negotiate the price or shop around.

Both Dave and Brendan have been here today, first to assess our issues and then to give a thorough clean and troubleshoot. Our prognosis is poor, (AC is too old), but the service was excellent. Polite, tidy and efficient. Have been offered a number of options going forward. Will use again.

This company basically runs a scam - they charge a $141.90 call-out fee and the quote you an absolutely ridiculous amount of money. There are lots of great businesses out there, so it’s disappointing when you come across unethical businesses like this who run a business model on scamming people. Also disappointing the ACCC allows businesses like this to continue to practise.
Also, I find these “5 star reviews” very suspicious - they’re either 5 star reviews saying how nice the technician was (never a mention of costs!) or they’re 1 star reviews warning people to avoid their service!
