In any case I confronted the store owner and he claimed the Samsung SSD was replaced under warranty as it was faulty and that the original 240 SSD was also faulty so he removed it. He did not tell me any of this when I picked the computer up originally, I needed to find this out myself. So on my first revisit/ confrontation I asked for "Faulty" 240 SSD back but he gave me a different SSD (which I found out later). I know this because I had taken information using Belarc Advisor which gives you descriptions and serial numbers for all your Hardware. So on my second confrontation (after advice from ACCC consumer complaints) the owner claimed these were all simple mistakes and that everything he claimed was true. At least in terms of the Graphics card, this was certainly not the case as what's on the invoice and what I was also verbally told is not what was in the computer. So I told him it was in both our interest not to pursue this through the ACCC (because of time and the small costs involved) but that he should supply my original SSDs and give me a refund for the difference in Graphics Cards (I did not want to leave my computer with them). The business owner supplied me with a new 240 SSD drive and refunded $200 for the graphics card (presumably he had resold or got rid of the "old" SSDs). It's also worth noting that I had not seen any issue with both these drives during my use of them before taking the computer in. I was happy enough with this outcome and have not pursued it any further with the ACCC.
In terms of my previous experience (over 11 years), apart from doubts about some things I had been told in the past (which is why I was more alert this time) the "genuine" work has been done to a good standard. The turnover time they tell you never happens and it always takes them 2-3 times longer to do the work than what they said, so this is also very poor. On this occasion (June 2019) I was told 3 days and it took 2 weeks to get the computer back (not withstanding these issues).
It's up to the people reading this to decide whether this business is trustworthy or not or all just innocent mistakes. I know I will never use them again and I am personally convinced some low level fraudulent behaviour is endemic but that most people don't notice. I had spoken briefly with the Cranbourne police before the second confrontation and they said the had “heard” things about dodgy behaviour. I would encourage anyone who decides to use this business (Elite Computers Cranbourne) to take a good record of what hardware they have first. You can use the aforementioned Belarc advisor, or take photos and do the same after you get the computer back to match it with your invoice. I would also insist that the invoice they give you be itemised. If you have issues you should report it to the ACCC as the more people who do this the more likely it is the business will be audited for Fraudulent behaviour.
Finally, in the interest of fairness, The owner gave me a subsequent phone call after my second confrontation and settlement, to claim adamantly that he was innocent and that he was not doing anything fraudulent.

So happy with the service here! I spilt water on my boyfriends Macbook Air and took it in to Apple who quoted us $1200 (not covered under warranty due to water damage and we don't have contents insurance). So we sucked it up and bought a new one as it wasn't worth the cost of repairing.
My boyfriend then took the water damaged Macbook Air into elite computer who quoted us $300. I've now been using it 4 weeks and it's running perfectly.
If you have been quoted a very expensive repair for water damage at Apple I would definitely recommend bringing your laptop to elite and getting another quote.

Great Business
I can't say enough good stuff about this place! The guys who work here are knowledgable, friendly, fast-working, and honest. In particular, Tim was beyond helpful and professional in assisting me. I truly appreciate the work he and his colleagues put in. So many computer repair shops out there try to scam customers or overcharge for every little thing...not these guys. They performed miracles with my MacBook, which wasn't even turning on, had liquid damage, a broken keyboard, a half-functional trackpad, and a battery that should've been replaced about 4 years ago. For a very reasonable price, I got my laptop back in perfect working condition!! I'm ecstatic :) The guys here are also excellent about keeping in touch about progress or questions, and they are extremely time-efficient (both things that are appreciated when something as crucial as a work laptop suddenly goes kaput ;_;).
There is a reason this shop has been here for ages and has such stellar reviews. I now have firsthand experience on why that is. I will absolutely be returning here for any future compwuter needs and will be HIGHLY recommending them to all my friends and colleagues. Thank you so much!!

I had a MacBook Pro that wouldn't boot after I took it upon myself to uninstall a program. I tried to to do my own data recovery... three trips to Best Buy and two to Fry's for all sorts of cables... I gave up. Went to yelp and searched for computer repair and up popped the computer shop. I called and spoke to Ray... he was very easy to speak with about my ordeal, he told me to come in bring the laptop and he quoted me right over the phone... came in, he immediately attended to me and started the data recovery process. Something I was told would take easily a day was done in only a few hours. Ray is a lifesaver.... my laptop is my livelihood. I was back up and running the very next day. If you ever have any computer issues, Ray is your guy.... Super nice, easy going, knows his stuff.i would give 6 stars if I could.

Helpful, professional and friendly.
I went there twice in the last week. The first time, the staff helped recommend a new graphics card, and they were happy to discuss a future upgrade to my monitor. The two salesmen, Johnny and Tim, were happy to have a chat and listened to what I actually wanted and made recommendations based on that, no sales pressure, no up-sell. The place had enough staff and they were friendly and knowledgeable, which is a nice change from a lot of places that seem to just want you to buy and get out.
The second time I went, I dealt with a gentleman (didn't get his name) who came up with a creative solution to a problem I'd been having. He probably saved me a few hundred dollars for a new component. Once again, no sales pressure, no up-sell.

Amazing customer service only took one day to get my laptop upgraded and repaired. Everything was explained to me in simple terms and I didn't feel at all overwhelmed with all the technical stuff. So pleased with their service I now have a much faster laptop which saved me spending more money on a brand new one. Thanks
